FIELD: space engineering; orbital cable systems. SUBSTANCE: according to invention, cable release device includes cable drum, electric motor and control system which contains tension sensor, cutter, caging device and guide rollers. Device is additionally provided with at least one additional electric motor connected with drum. Drum is enclosed in hermetic case on which inertialess coil is fitted. Drum, coil, components of control system and electric motors are mounted one spacecraft of cluster; other spacecraft of cluster carries coupling adapter with unit for attachment of free end of cable. Control system includes sensors showing the number of revolutions and rotational speed of electric motors. Provision is made for many resistors; part of these resistors is electrically connected directly with electric motors and other part is connected through remote switches. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of deployment; enhanced reliability and ease in operation of cable system in orbit. 3 cl, 3 dwg
