FIELD: enamels. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to enamel composition used for grounding coat on steel, gas equipment, sanitary-technical and domestic articles. Enamel slip for grounding cover has frit consisting of a mixture of three frits, quartz sand, clay, borax, sodium compounds, water and mineral tincal of the following composition, wt.-%: B₂O₃ 37.04; Na₂O 15.07; SiO₂ 6.15; Al₂O₃+Fe₂O₃ 0.36; CaO 3.81; MgO 5.11; K₂O 0.86; SO₃ 0.67; calcination loss 30.93 at the following ratio of components, mas. p. p.: the first frit 15-45; the second frit 25-55; the third frit 20-40; quartz sand 15-35; borax 0.1-0.3; clay 5-7; sodium molybdate 0.05-0.15; tincal 12-16 and water 45-50. EFFECT: improved labor conditions in enamel-melting works, increased economy, improved ecology of environment, enhanced thermostability and adhesion of cover. 6 tbl
