FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for warming internal combustion engines of mobile machines at below zero temperatures of ambient air. Phase transition heat accumulator, utilizing and accumulating thermal energy of exhaust gases of internal combustion engine, has outer and inner housings with heat insulation layer made, for instance, of mineral wool, placed in between. Heat accumulating material capable of polymorphous transformation is placed in closed space limited by inner housing. Heat accumulating material is pierced by two heat exchangers; gas heat exchanger connected with exhaust system of internal combustion engine, and liquid heat exchanger connected with engine jacket space. Use of heat accumulating material in form of substance capable of reversible polymorphous transformation with absorption (liberation) of heat at phase transition without material change of volume within working temperature range (for instance, BeF2) makes it possible to simplify design of phase transition heat accumulator and reduced its mass characteristics. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 1 dwg
