METHOD FOR FEEDING LUBRICATING AND COOLING TECHNOLOGICAL MIXTURE TO GRINDING ZONE Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: metal cutting at feeding lubricating and cooling technological mixture to grinding zone. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of grinding by wheel with axially shifted cutting layer and with ends inclined by certain acute angle to plane normal relative to rotation axis; protecting grinding wheel against influence of air flows; filling protective casing of wheel with light easy-to-destruct material in the form of porous sponge, for example porolon sponge; fixing sponge to casing by means of fixed easy-to-destruct discs and movably joining it with ends of wheel through movable easy-to-destruct apertural discs. Discs rest upon ends of wheel by means of thrust bearings. Lubricating and cooling technological mixture is fed to zone of grinding part and into gaps between ends of wheel and movable discs through additional corrugated nozzles having openings along their periphery and secured to movable discs. At grinding process movable discs remains non-rotating and perform oscillation motion with change of inclination angle relative to plane normal to rotation axis. In the result additional alternating injection of technological mixture onto running in lengthwise direction grinding zone is provided from each end at each revolution of wheel.
