FIELD: protection of buried isolated elongate construction metal surfaces from corrosion. SUBSTANCE: method involves using protective dielectric covering and ensuring cathodic polarization; providing cathodic protection of construction under dielectric covering by exposing covering to electromachining and/or electromechanical machining; perforating polymeric film covering by delivering separate high-voltage pulses (5-150 kV) and by electromechanical machining performed by means of spark defectoscope; providing cathodic polarization by pulsed rectified voltage or nonsymmetrical current with density of 0.5-1.0 mA/sq.dm. Moreover, area of 0.1-0.5 m in the vicinity of construction is subjected to enhanced cathodic protection. Backfield ground is treated with compositions increasing pH to 10-12 and decreasing resistivity of soil electrolyte to 5-10 Ohm.m.
