FIELD: mechanical engineering; multicylinder diesel engines. SUBSTANCE: internal combustion engine has intake device consisting of receiver with separate intake branch pipes connected with cylinder head and communicating with separate cylinders intake valves, and also air cleaner. Spaces of receiver and air cleaner are placed in communication through air pipe whose dynamic section inside receiver is located in gravity center - 0 - . Cylindrical housing of air cleaner is provided with bottom and cover. Passage area of free section of air pipe is located at a distance of (0.58 - 0.68) R from axis -0-0- of housing cylinder (where R is radius of cylinder of air cleaner housing) and at a distance of H/2-0.3 d from surface of cylinder bottom of air cleaner housing (where h is height of air cleaner housing and d is inner diameter of air pipe). Air cleaner is secured on receiver by means of connecting neck made on its side wall through which air pipe is passed. Receiver housing is made in form of round cylinder limited by blind end face walls, and free section of air pipe in receiver space is located along cylinder axis at a distance of B/2 - 0.3d from blind end face wall at side of connecting neck (where B is length of receiver 1, and d is diameter of air pipe 7).
