FIELD: petrochemical processes. SUBSTANCE: hydrocarbon stock subjected to hydrofining process is brought into contact with bifunctional catalyst: zeolite or elemento-aluminosilicate (ZSM-12, SAPO-11, or SAPO-31) modified with VI, VIII and II group metals and characterized by a certain combination of aprotic and protonic acid sites. Zeolite must have aprotic acid sites with absorption frequency for adsorbed carbon monoxide 2200-2230 cm-1 and concentration of aprotic acid sites 40-50 mcmole/g, protonic acid sites with absorption frequency for adsorbed carbon monoxide 1160-1180 cm-1 and concentration of canal protonic acid sites 40-50 mcmole/g. Elemento- aluminosilicates must have aprotic acid sites with absorption frequency for adsorbed carbon monoxide 2200-2230 cm-1 and concentration of aprotic acid sites 40-50 mcmole/g, protonic acid sites with absorption frequency for adsorbed carbon monoxide 1200-1220 cm-1 and concentration of canal protonic acid sites 50-60 mcmole/g. EFFECT: simplified process and extended base oil resource. 4 cl, 3 tbl, 5 ex
