SECTIONAL GRINDING WHEEL Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

Abstract RU 2152867 C2

FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to finishing methods of machining and it can be used for grinding plastic (viscous) materials and alloys. Grinding wheel has hollow metal housing with inner space accommodating lubricating-and-cooling material and provided with through channel for delivering lubricating-and-cooling material to cutting zone. Cup-shaped bushings are installed on thread in channels. Nozzle lapped to size of striker is found in cup bottom. Striker is essentially centrifugal impact strengthener. Balls are freely fitted in bushings. Bushings proper can be moved along thread in channels to set required outreach of strikers beyond the limits of wheel changing with wear of diamond-containing layer applied to periphery of wheel. To prevent falling of strikers from channels ring is provided with holes whose diameter is smaller that of strikers. Parts in form of hard alloy solids of revolution, such as balls, rollers, cone pins are used as strikers of centrifugal impact strengtheners. The latter are arranged over periphery of wheel in staggered or any other order on condition that unbalance of grinding wheel in operation is precluded. EFFECT: improved quality of machining, no adverse effect on environment. 2 dwg
