BUILDUP ABRASIVE WHEEL Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: machine engineering, namely designing of buildup grinding tools with possibility for feeding cutting fluid. SUBSTANCE: buildup abrasive wheel includes abrasive discs and spacing washers between them mounted on mandrel having central cavity and radial openings. Central cavity of mandrel is separated in addition by means of lengthwise partition in order to form two axial ducts for supplying two different type cutting fluids. One axial duct is open to abrasive discs through radial openings and circumferential grooves on outer surface of mandrel in zones of mounting abrasive discs. Second axial duct is communicated with cavities between abrasive discs through radial openings of mandrel, circumferential grooves on inner surface of openings of spacing washers and through radial holes of spacing washers. Such wheel allows to feed cutting fluid to grinding zone through pores of grinding wheel and in the form of pressure oscillating jet at using buildup lengthwise-intermittent abrasive wheels with axially shifted cutting layer.
