FIELD: control over technological processes in chemical, oil and other industries. SUBSTANCE: two pressure transducers are positioned in additional vessel communicating with reservoir containing tested liquid by means of two branch pipe with shut-off valves. Reference liquid is poured into additional vessel and its pressure in upper and lower levels are measured with the help of pressure transducers in advance. Then reference liquid is drained from additional vessel and shut-off valves in branch pipes are open. Tested liquid flows by gravity from reservoir into additional vessel till self-aligned levels are obtained in them. After this pressures of tested liquid in additional vessel is measured by same pressure transducers and at same levels. Obtained data are used to determine level and density of liquid in reservoir by certain mathematical dependencies given in description of invention. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of measurement of level and density of liquid in reservoir. 1 dwg
