FIELD: welding of thermoplastic polymeric materials, applicable for manufacture of cellular-work lattices used for strengthening of prime surfaces. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in stratified laying of bands of flat thermoplastic polymeric material. Two original stratified bands to be welded of the preset length are fixed one relative to the other over the entire length by clamps at a pressure of 0.01 to 0.3 MPa in band sections between welds, whose spacing is permanent within 100 to 1000 mm. Then, in the place of location of welds the heated welding buttons of welding elements to be implanted are pressed to the bands to be welded with their subsequent implantation in the bands being welded to a depth of 0.38 to 1.21 of the band thickness with a force of 0.01 to 0.3 MPa, and the upper band is welded to the lower one at a temperature of 140 to 240 C during 20 to 90 s. Then, laid on the pack of the first two welded bands are in turn from the top each band of the same length to be joined to it. The welding process is repeated. The pack of bands is displaced in turn at welding of the odd band to any side and returned to the initial position at welding of the even band at a distance of half the weld spacing. The welding process continues until the preset quantity of welded bands is obtained in the lattice. Circumferential welds are formed by multiple implanted tapered buttons of the heated welding element, whose shape in plan is square, rectangular, round, oval or cruciate. The distance between the rows of implanted buttons is within 0.06 to 0.31 of the width of the band being welded. The device description is also given. EFFECT: highly enhanced quality of welding of adjacent polymeric bands in the lattice and weld of a preset operating strength of at least 10,5 MPa. 8 cl, 6 dwg
