FIELD: railroad operation. SUBSTANCE: with detected fatigue cracks or fractures on rail length foot, rail length is displaced in longitudinal direction over distance of at least 3 m and clamp bolts are tightened with application of force equalling 0.5 of rated one in zone of fatigue crack detection and in zone of displaced rail section with fatigue crack, and rubberized cord tie plates are replaced with rubber ones in the zones. For longitudinal displacement of rail length, all clamps with clamp bolts are removed from rail length, rail length is somewhat raised, displaced inside gage line and moved along track through preset distance. Tie plates in the zones are replaced with rubber ones, rail length is installed on rubber plates and fixed with clamp bolts. EFFECT: reduction or complete elimination of tangential overload stresses due to longitudinal displacement. 4 cl, 4 dwg
