DEVICE FOR CHANGING RAILWAY CAR BOGIES Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in replacement of bogies in case of change of track gauge and in repair of cars. Accurate mounting of new bogie under car without visual examination is provided owing to the fact that bogie changer is made in form of transborder moving in pit square to approach tracks and is provided with platform with two sections of track made for displacement in vertical plane. Two bogie alignment devices are mounted on each track of transborder. Each device is essentially a movable frame with stops spring-balanced along track axis and furnished with toothed rack. Drive shaft with right-hand and left-hand threads with rotation drive is mounted on frame. Rotation drive is operated by current relay. Frame carries also carriages engaging with threads of shaft. Carriages are provided with hinge-mounted spring-loaded levers engaging with axles of bogie wheels and stops of frame. Toothed rack is in meshing with gear wheel of shaft arranged across sections of track and furnished with brake disk. Gear wheel on second end of shaft engages with toothed rack of alignment device arranged on parallel section of track. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 5 dwg
