FIELD: composite materials for brake components. SUBSTANCE: braking device component is made of composite material C/C-SiS incorporating base of carbon fibers and reinforcing carbon-silicon carbide matrix that includes phases near rubbing working surface or surfaces. First phase is pyrocarbon surrounding base fibers and produced by chemical precipitation from gas phase. Second heat-resistant phase of carbon or silicon is produced by pyrolysis of precursor in liquid state. And also carbide phase produced by siliconizing. Composite material in vicinity of working surface or surfaces has following composition, volume percent: carbon fibers, 15-35; pyrocarbon phase, 10-55; heatresistant material phase, 2-30; silicon carbide, 10-35.
