WALKING SUPPORT OF INCREASED CROSS-COUNTRY CAPABILITY Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: transport engineering; gas, oil and timber industry; walking vehicles. SUBSTANCE: proposed support has housing with walking propulsion units installed at its sides. Propulsion units are made in form of four-member mechanisms with curvilinear supports. Supports are provided with ski-like shoes hinge-coupled with cranks and rocking levers. Free ends of levers are hinge-connected to housing. Walking support has power drive. Walking propulsion units are mounted along support housing consisting of right-hand and left-hand side bearing beams rigidly connected to each other. Pairs of propulsion units are hinge-mounted from outer inner sides of each bearing beam. Each pair of outer and inner propulsion units is made in form of mechanically intercoupled assemblies and is provided with one shoe. Outer and inner propulsion units are connected into pairs and are installed on beam with shift in phase through half of turn of cranks rigidly secured on driving axles made in form of torsional shafts square to beam. Driving axle of each second propulsion unit of each pair serves as driving axle of each first propulsion unit of following pair. Power drive is mechanically coupled only with cranks of first walking propulsion units of left-hand and right-hand sides.
