FIELD: precious metal technology. SUBSTANCE: precious metals are recovered from zinc fallouts (sludges) resulting from precipitation (cementation) from cyanide solutions by zinc powder. Recovery procedure includes creation of reaction space based on sodium carbonate, melting of zinc fallouts under ore-thermal conditions, tapping and separation of slag and precious metal alloy. Invention is distinguished by that silicon oxide is preliminarily added to zinc fallouts in amounts 10 to 60% of the total weight of charge, in particular in the form of diatomaceous earth with particle size as large as 0.01 mm, which is added to cyanide solution together with zinc; and melting is conducted at 1100- 1250 C. Using method of invention on the area provided with two ore furnaces, 300 kg of zinc fallouts can be remelted to recover about 100 kg of precious metal alloys during one 8-hour shift. EFFECT: facilitated recovery process. 2 cl
