FIELD: light engineering, applicable for luminaires and in the processes of application of specular reflecting coatings and their subsequent protection. SUBSTANCE: the light-reflecting coating has a prime coat applied onto metal surface as a backing of polymer with a degree of polish of not below 90% (acc. to Gardner), 100 to 150 μm thick, reflecting layer of pure aluminium, the latter has a protective film of transparent polymer, 50 to 100 μm thick. The light-reflecting coating is produced by alternate application of the prime coat of polymer on preliminarily cleaned metal surface in an electrostatic field with subsequent polymerization, forming a backing for the light-reflecting layer of pure aluminium applied by vacuum deposition, then the reflecting layer is coated by transparent polymeric powder and polymerized until the protective film is obtained. Both polymerizations are carried out at temperatures ranging from 160 to 180 C.
