FIELD: information displays. SUBSTANCE: displaying member of board has at least three indication electrodes. Also, at least one and no more than n-1 electrodes are separated into at least two conductors. Width of an extreme indication electrode d is greater than width of each of conductors in separated indication electrodes d1. Best results can be obtained, if values of d and d1 conform to condition 1,05d1 ≤ d ≤ d1. The method for control involves generation of global writing pulses on extreme indication electrode with d width and on adjacent indication electrode in preparation mode. In addressing mode, method involves generation of scanning pulses on the same extreme electrode, as used in preparation mode. In indication mode, method involves keeping discharge on indication electrodes, which are not used in addressing mode. This results in possibility to decrease control voltage levels. EFFECT: increased reliability of control. 3 cl, 5 dwg
