FIELD: gas-discharge engineering; data display on ac gas panels. SUBSTANCE: introduced in gas-panel pixels, each incorporating at least four display electrodes, is contrast coating that covers inner surface of insulating plate between two adjacent display electrodes used to produce auxiliary discharge. In addition, image contrast is improved by introducing contrast material under two display electrodes used for producing auxiliary discharge, under all electrodes, and between adjacent pixels.
