FIELD: chemical industry, production of structural materials, filling agents, catalysts. SUBSTANCE: iron-carrying powders are mixed with aluminum-and/or zirconium- carrying powders. Mixture is extruded, dried and subjected to treatment with laser radiation in region of focusing of CO2- laser with wave length 10.6 μ. Power density of laser radiation is 1.4-135.0 kW/sq cm, pressure of inert gas in plant amounts to 0.4- 1.4 atm. Starting powders can be produced by method of precipitation of components with subsequent thermal treatment at 500-850 C. Produced single-phase iron-oxide material has high dispersity.
