FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves creating excessive pressure in propionic acid flow; turbulizing propionic acid flow and spraying it into grain, with adiabatic expansion being provided in supersonic nozzle. Prior to usage, chitosan is dissolved in propionic acid. Combined usage of propionic acid and supersonics causes grain sterilization. Method allows newly harvested grain to be effectively preserved for prolonged storage. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved storage conditions.
