FIELD: instrument making, radio engineering, computer engineering, non- destructive flaw detection. SUBSTANCE: method involves passing heat excitation pulse with specific duration through cylinder. Pulse is excited by means of upper electrode, which contacts upper metal coating edge, and is received by lower electrode. Lower electrode is connected to heat receiver, which detects temperature alteration. Parameters of heat receiver signals provide data for judging metal coating quality by means of calibration functions. Method may be used for monitoring quality of metal-coated holes of diameter up to 0.3 mm in printed circuit boards before pattern etching. Results of measurement are independent from variations in metal coating conductance. EFFECT: decreased costs caused by treatment of faulty board, possibility to measure metal coating and its peeling from base. 2 cl, 5 dwg
