FIELD: optical instruments. SUBSTANCE: device has optical fiber, system for switching signal generation and communication device. Optical fiber has double refraction, which is within range of 10e-5 to 10e-6 and effective area of at least 40 square micron. Generation system generates switching signal, which power level provides double refraction in optical fiber, so that input signal in optical fiber changes polarization mode. Communication device provide connection of input signal and switching signal in optical fiber. EFFECT: minimal non-linear effects, which can distort input signal in optical fiber switch. 7 cl, 2 dwg
