FIELD: processes for providing corrosion-proof oxide coating on pearlite steels, possibly protection of power equipment against corrosion in idle, transition and stationary modes. SUBSTANCE: process comprises steps of creating oxide coating onto surfaces of pearlite steels by treating them with ammonium nitride in aqueous or steam medium at (95-140)C for 1.5-3 hours at concentration (60-150)mg/kg. It enhances efficiency of protecting equipment against corrosion and prevents waste formation as at operation of power equipment in nominal mode ammonium nitride is decomposed to nitrogen and water. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of protection. 4 tbl
