FIELD: petroleum processing. SUBSTANCE: initial material is subjected to dehydration (water is further purified), stripping, and then to thermal cracking in cracking kettle, which when filled is blown with nitrogen. Cracking products are separated into vapor products and heavy fraction. The former are condensed and separated into low- and high-boiling fractions, which are dehydrated: low-boiling fraction is simply settled, whereas high- boiling fraction is settled and then centrifuged. Dehydrated fractions are treated with antioxidant, and high-boiling fraction after treatment is filtered. Water separated from high-boiling fraction is combined with starting material and so is made with water separated from low-boiling fraction or this water is purified. Installation has dehydration and stripping unit consisting of heat exchanger connected in series to falling film evaporator, separator, condenser, and phase separator; water purification unit consisting of stripping column and filter; thermal cracking unit consisting of cracking kettle, dephlegmator, condenser, and centrifuge; filtration unit; and distillation unit.
