FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method of treating friction surfaces of parts from iron-carbon alloys includes application of wear-resistant coating of self-fluxing alloy based on powder mixture containing, %: chrome, 9.8-14; boron, 2.0-2.4; silicon, 2.8-3.2; iron, 32.1-32.8; cobalt, 1.5-2.0; titanium, 0.5-0.8; niobium, 0.4-0.6; molybdenum, 2.5-3.5; nickel, the balance; and subsequent fusing with laser beam. The powder mixture is supplied to surface of treated part by means of transporting tube with displacement of surface of projections of axes of tube and laser beam through value of a/2 relative to part vertical axis, where a = (0.3-0.6)d, d is diameter of part. EFFECT: increased wear resistance, improved quality of friction surfaces and higher utilization factor of powder. 5 dwg, 3 tbl, 3 ex
