FIELD: surfacing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for surfacing protective coating to increase the strength and wear resistance of surfaces of responsible heavily loaded parts operating under conditions of friction and wear, in particular electric engine shafts made of stainless steel grades. A laser beam from an optical system is directed to a rotating surface with the supply of filler powder to a heating spot. During the rotation of a shaft, the optical system is moved along the axis of the shaft to superimpose surfaced rollers with their overlap on the entire surface of the shaft. As the optical system, a laser head with a coaxial nozzle is used, the surfacing is carried out in argon medium. An overlap step of rollers is equal to 1.2 mm. The coaxial nozzle is positioned at a right angle to the longitudinal axis of the shaft. Castolin Eutalloy 16604 or Hoganas 431L powder is used as filler powder. The laser radiation power is 2000 W, the shaft rotation speed is 12 mm/s, the amount of powder supplied is 1.8 g/min, the flow rate of transport gas - argon is 40 l/min, and the overlap step of applied rollers is 1.2 mm.
EFFECT: method provides high-quality wear-resistant coating with a thickness of the surfaced layer of 0.7-1.6 mm and a width of 15-200 mm.
