FIELD: aviation; flapping wing airplanes. SUBSTANCE: method consists in performing flapping motion by wings of flying vehicle. In performing flapping motion, control of angle of attack of wings is effected through turning them about their longitudinal axes, as well as control of flapping frequency. Flapping motion is effected forward and backward. Simultaneously, wings are brought to incoming flow at positive angle of attack turning them over at final points of flapping forward and backward; in performing forward flapping, lower side is supported by air and in performing backward flapping motion, rear side is supported by air. Lift force is controlled through control of angle of attack. For compensation for tilting moment at final points of flapping, flapping motion shall be performed across main flapping motion. Damper is brought to wings during their upward motion to upper point of flapping motion. Then, flapping motions are compensated for by positively directing the wings downward. Flapping frequency is selected depending on natural frequency of flying vehicle to avoid coincidence of these frequencies. EFFECT: possibility of shifting from take-off mode to horizontal flight mode and vice versa.
