FIELD: sorption equipment, more particularly preparation of activated carbons use for removing harmful impurities and toxicants from gases and liquid and also for other industrial and environment protection purposes. SUBSTANCE: described is method of preparing granular activated carbon which comprises mixing crushed coal stock with addition of neonol in amount of 0.08-3.5 wt % and resin binder, granulating the mixture at temperature from 60 to 100 C and pressures from 80 to 100 kg/sq.cm, cooling granules to room temperature, carbonizing granules at temperatures from 450 to 650 C and activating said granules to total pore volume of 0.6-0.9 cubic cm/g. Method makes it possible to increase significantly absorption power of activated carbon with respect to vapors of organochlorine substances. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method.
