FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed mechanism has bushing and spring-loaded hollow spool with channels and ports for intake of fresh charge and exhaust of waste gases. Diametrically directed round or shaped section channel is made inside spool square to its axis, and two diametrically opposite holes for intake of fresh charge are made in spool wall at two sides square to exhaust gas outlet channel. Fresh charge intake holes operate in turn. Timing gear has no drive shaft. Spools are connected by coupling members. EFFECT: reduced overall dimensions and mass of engine timing gear, improved filling of cylinders. 3 cl, 2 dwg
