FIELD: engine manufacture.
SUBSTANCE: engines with detonation ignition of the air-fuel mixture. The method of detonation operation is carried out in a dual-mode internal combustion engine with forced ignition of the air-fuel mixture. The engine has inlet and outlet rotary spools (10) and (20), inlet ports (17) and outlet radial ports (2). Injection screw blades (16) are installed in the holes of the head (4) of the cylinder. The method consists in the intake of a fresh charge of air, injection of fuel into the combustion chamber (28) and forced ignition of the air-fuel mixture. After reaching a pressure of 1.0 to 1.5 MPa in the combustion chamber (28) and creating a lean air-fuel mixture from gasoline grades from A66 to AI95, the combustion chamber (28) is divided into three independent chambers. In the combustion chamber (28), at a pressure of 1.8 to 2.3 MPa, depending on the brand of gasoline, forced detonation ignition of a lean air-fuel mixture is performed. In the second and third detonation chambers (12) and (13), detonation ignition of the air-fuel mixture is performed alternately with an interval of 20° engine shaft revolution from top dead center (TDC) and 40° engine shaft from TDC from exposure to hot gases from the combustion chamber (28) with a temperature of over 1000°C and with a pressure of at least 5.0 MPa. A dual-mode positive-ignition internal combustion engine for implementing the method.
