FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: hydrogen peroxide and metal chlorate or chloric acid or mixture thereof is fed into tubular reactor H2O2:CLO-3

molar ratio is (0.5- 2): 1. Chlorate ions are reduced to form chlorine dioxide. Chlorine dioxide is withdrawn from other end of reactor. Degree of conversion of chlorate into chlorine dioxide varies from 75 to 100%. In feeding reagents into reactor, 70-96% sulfuric acid with temperature of 20-50 C is fed in amount of 2-10 kg per 1 kg of the resulting chlorine dioxide. Tubular reactor has internal diameter of 25-250 mm. Ratio of length of reactor to internal diameter is (12:1):1. Pressure in reactor is 125-900 mm Hg(16.7-120 kPa).
