SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing chlorine dioxide, involving obtaining chlorine dioxide in an aqueous reaction medium in a reaction vessel, wherein pressure is kept higher than atmospheric pressure, separating gaseous chlorine dioxide from said reaction medium, bringing the gaseous chlorine dioxide into contact with an aqueous absorbent medium and separating the gaseous chlorine dioxide from said absorbent medium. While chlorine dioxide is being absorbed from the reaction vessel, chlorine dioxide is separated from the absorbent medium.

EFFECT: method is efficient for use where gaseous chlorine dioxide is used.
