FIELD: technology of drinking water production. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of drinking water from weakly mineralized water, completely or partially desalted water that can be obtained, for example, in exploitation of electrochemical generators and from water desalted in ionite, freshening or diaphragm units. Artificial mineralized drinking water has water and calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, silver, chloride, sulfate, hydrocarbonate, fluoride and acetate ions in the total mass ratio: (999.70-999.88):(0.015-0.073):(0.002-0.017):(0.0012-0.0045): :(0.003-0.006): (0.00005-0.00013): (0.004-0.117): (0.009-0.066): :(0.010-0.050):(0.00015-0.00150): (0.018-0.056), respectively. Water can has additionally iodine and/or its compounds in the amount 0.005-1.0 mg/l. Prepared water is physiologically full- value drinking water providing the content of organic carbon 25 mg/l, not above.
