FIELD: transport engineering; internal combustion engine exhaust system. SUBSTANCE: proposed housing-carrier has grid member preferably made of coiled, S-shape twisted or assembled into pack layers of at least partially structurized material. Grid member has large number of surfaces provided with catalyst over which exhaust gases flow, and inlet surface and outlet surface. According to invention, grid member is provided, at least in inner zone of its outlet surface, surfaces coated with catalyst and provided with open front sections non-overlapped from outside from side of perimeter of housing-carrier by other surfaces also provided with catalyst. Length of open front sections at least on part of outlet surface is from 55 to 90% of length of channels. Thanks to it heat radiating surfaces are formed which are open from outside and provide more effective radiation of heat by hosing-carrier into surrounding space in exhaust gas system of engine.
