FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described is method of preparing γ-polyoxymethylene by polymerization of formaldehyde derivative in solvent in the presence of methanol and sulfuric acid catalyst followed by alkaline stabilization and isolation. Formaldehyde derivative is trioxane, and solvent is tetrachloromethane, and sulfuric acid catalyst is 5-15 % solution of sulfuric anhydride in sulfuric acid, and process is carried out at trioxane concentration of 7.0-5.0 mole/cu.dm, methanol content of 4-6% of trioxane weight and catalyst content of 7-12% of trioxane weight.
