SUBSTANCE: radiation detector designed for detecting electromagnetic radiation and showing high reliability when operating in cryostats of thermal imagers has base and frame forming sealed cavity, and chip carrying photosensitive integrated circuit and provided with current leads; base has two or more parts with frame attached to one of them and remaining ones secured to this part through sealed joint. As an alternative, one of component parts of base not joined to frame and to current leads may be mounted in its center and made in the form of circle. In this case part of base that has frame and current leads attached to it may be made of vacuum-tight ceramic or sapphire and remaining ones, of kovar.
