FIELD: sugar production. SUBSTANCE: froth suppressor preparation involves use of hydration precipitate arising during hydration of vegetable oil. Precipitate is mixed with alkali, e.g. sodium hydroxide, at weight ratio of adipose matter of hydration precipitate to alkali between 96:4 and 87:13. Mixture is agitated to achieve partial saponification of adipose matter into fatty acid mono- and diglycerides. Acid solution, e.g. sulfuric acid solution, is then added to split soap obtained and to form froth suppressor, which is settled to remove water. EFFECT: increased foam suppression capacity when sugar- containing solution froth is suppressed.
