FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: according to first version, fuel charge is delivered into working space of internal combustion engine, is compressed and ignited and combusted with production of combustion products and execution of mechanical work. Fuel charge is compressed to self-ignition at oxider excess coefficient of α > 0,8.. Fuel charge includes fuel(s), oxider(s) and/or fuel-oxider mixtures of various compositions both in content and phase state and different (any) combinations of following components: water, steam, additions and combustion products. Additional fuel9s) and/or oxider(s) and/or fuel charge flows can be delivered into working space of internal combustion engine. Description of second version is also given. Proposed method provides optimum combustion process (complete combustion) at increased efficiency and power output of engine, reduced concentration of harmful substances such as (NOx, CO, CH, and other, reduced thermal and mechanical loads on engine.
