DIFFERENTIAL POWER DISTRIBUTION COMBINATION SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

Abstract RU 2171752 C2

FIELD: transport engineering; combination drive systems of vehicles. SUBSTANCE: rotary power set drives front section load. Set is connected with differential device including electric machine and rear differential box driving rear section. Controllable brake installed between rotor and stator of electric machine provides operation of electric motor as drive when input current is supplied or variable-speed coupling by output current when electric machine operates as generator. Motor can rotate at constant and at partially regulated speed. Part of output power is used to drive load, while the rest of power is converted by electric machine playing the part of generator into storage battery charging current. EFFECT: improved system power efficiency, reduced pollution of ambient atmosphere. 23 cl, 8 tbl, 8 dwg
