FIELD: transport engineering; steering systems. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to steering mechanisms with built-in hydraulic booster. Proposed mechanism has case accommodating piston and coaxially installed screw. Piston and screw are coupled by ball-and-screw drive. Toothed rack is made on piston. Teeth of rack and teeth of gear sector form rack drive. Gear sector is rigidly coupled with pitman arm shaft. Slots made in teeth accommodate screw. Slot surfaces are equidistant to screw surface. Axes of piston and screw lie in pitch plane of rack drive. EFFECT: reduced wear of piston and case, reduced friction forces, increased efficiency of steering mechanism. 2 cl, 3 dwg
