APPARATUS FOR STRAIGHTENING DEFORMATIONS OF STRIP STEEL PRODUCTS Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: straightening and repairing bodies of transport vehicles. SUBSTANCE: apparatus for straightening deformations of articles of strip steel includes tie rod electrically connected with terminal of output section of welding circuit and having traction unit, handle and switch of welding circuit. Tie rod is made of material with small specific resistance such as brass; diameter of mean portion of tie rod is more than that of its remaining portions. Electrode of low carbon steel is secured to one end of tie rod; electrode, preferably is coaxial to lengthwise axis of tie rod. There is turning, preferably in the form of through hole in mean portion of tie rod. The last is mounted with possibility of reciprocation motion in sleeve whose bottom is parted, joined with walls and has opening providing free passing of end of tie rod spring-loaded relative to sleeve bottom. Walls of sleeve have two through slits oriented along generatrix of sleeve body and symmetrical relative to its lengthwise axis. Handle is arranged normally relative to sleeve, it is oriented along line passing through slits and has two members rigidly secured to sleeve body. Traction unit is in the form of levers mounted with possibility of rotation on horizontal axles secured to handle. End portions of levers are passed through slits of sleeve body and they are arranged in turning of tie rod. Handle has stops placed at both sides of electrode.
