FIELD: radiolocation of passive space objects, fragments of space debris in particular; radar observation for detection of fragments of space debris which present danger for operation of spacecraft and space stations. SUBSTANCE: proposed method is based on radiation of sounding signal, receiving reflected signal and processing this signal; method includes also filtration of Doppler frequencies. In the course of processing the reflected signal, removal pf phase modulation and compression of frequency spectrum are effected by multiplicative translation of frequency spectrum of above- mentioned signal. Magnitude of multiplicative translation coefficient is changed depending on object motion parameters; this magnitude is inversely proportional to the product of rotational speed of object by its diameter. EFFECT: possibility of using Doppler radar systems for detection of passive space objects due to restoration of coherency of signal received, thus increasing range of direction finding; enhanced reliability of timely detection of approaching fragments of space debris. 2 cl, 2 dwg
