SUBSTANCE: method of processing a radar signal is based on converting the frequency spectrum of the signal by frequency translation; the frequency spectrum of the signal undergoes multiplicative transformation; the oscillation frequency translation coefficient is varied during signal conversion; change in signal frequency is compensated for; the obtained oscillations undergo spectral analysis; the range to the object is determined based on the frequency value corresponding to the maximum amplitude of the frequency spectrum of oscillations; the value of Doppler frequency shift of the signal and the speed of the object are determined from the difference in frequency deviation of the received and emitted signals.
EFFECT: design of high-sensitivity radar systems, use of a broadband signal increases noise-immunity of the system, significantly improves range resolution, provides reliable identification and enables to select objects moving at high speed.
