FIELD: homing guidance of interception stage on target traveling under effect of gravitational field of the Earth. SUBSTANCE: method of far and near guidance of interception stage secures predominantly its direct hit of small-sized target thanks to increased accuracy of measurement of angles of shift of sighting line and to reduced mass of interception stage due to lack of range finding equipment. Method consists in two step guidance with imparting of interception stage with pulses of thrust needed for compensation of current miss. Measurement of angles of shift of sighting line and shift time, determination of values of closing speed and range to target are conducted before application of thrust pulse and after it. First thrust pulse of specified value and duration is given at stage of far guidance and next thrust pulses are determined by computed values of closing speed and range to target, angle between vector of relative speed and range. Stage of far guidance is carried out till condition of presence of sighting line within limits of specified angle in the course of preset time interval is fulfilled. At stage of near guidance range to target is found on basis of known value of closing speed generated at stage of far guidance and measurement of angles of shift of sighting line and time of shift of sighting line through these angles is repeated, then thrust pulse is computed and transmitted to interception stage.
