FIELD: electrical and electronic engineering; manufacture of fiber-optic plates. SUBSTANCE: method involves setting-up of microchannel unit of individual multicore optical conductors, its arrangement in enclosure and sealing to produce assembly, installation of assembly in sintering furnace, evacuation of gases, assembly heating to sintering temperature, exposure to this temperature for desired time, compression of heated assembly followed by its cooling down to room temperature, and slicing of plate; novelty is that sealing is effected by grinding enclosure surface and compression of heated assembly in radial direction. Proposed device implementing this method has glass tube with its upper and lower sealing surfaces that accommodates microchannel unit, gas evacuation cavity, and furnaces for heating microchannel unit assembled with enclosure. According to invention upper and lower sealing surfaces are made in the form of flanges attached to cylindrical shell and gas evacuation cavity is, essentially, tail part of one of flanges whose butt-end section is provided with holes or perforated insert on microchannel unit side. EFFECT: improved geometry of plate, simplified design, reduced labor consumption for plate manufacture, provision for reuse of plate components. 4 cl, 3 dwg
