FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves examining biochemical blood serum properties. Peroxidase activity, catalase activity, haptoglobin concentration and seromucoid value in optical density units is determined in blood serum. If seromucoid value is greater than 180 optical density units on the background of normal haptoglobin concentration, the ratio of peroxidase activity to catalase activity, multiplied by 1000 is greater than 10, radical surgical intervention is considered to be indicated. The ratio of peroxidase activity to catalase activity, multiplied by 1000 is less than 10, palliative surgical intervention is considered to be indicated. EFFECT: high specificity inn determining indications to selecting treatment method.
