FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves measuring cornea thickness before operation after bearing contact lens during 1 h and 1 h after its being taken off. Corneal adaptive recovery potential being calculated using formula of CARP = (T1-T2)/(T1-T0)x100%, where T0 is the cornea thickness before setting on the contact lens, T1 is the cornea thickness immediately after taking off the contact lens, T2 is the cornea thickness 1 h later after taking off the contact lens. CARP value being equal to 80-100%, risk of cornea complications development is equal to 0%. CARP value being equal to 60- 80%, risk of cornea complications development is equal to 7.6%. The value being equal to 40-60%, risk of cornea complications development is equal to 30.8%. The value being below 20%, risk of cornea complications development is equal to 84.6%. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of prognosis. 1 tbl
