FIELD: production of colored quartz crystals; jewelry industry. SUBSTANCE: proposed method is performed under hydrothermal conditions by temperature differential, recrystallization of quarts charge for seed from aqueous solution of sodium carbonate in presence of cobalt- containing compound and aluminum at the following content of components, g/l: Co(0,1-0,2)•10-3 and Al(3,0-6,0)•10-3 followed by ionizing radiation. EFFECT: possibility of growing crystals at color close to sapphire. 1 tbl
