FIELD: jewelry industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves producing quartz by hydrothermal way from quartz charge in alkaline medium at high pressure and temperature on seeded plates. After growing, thermal treatment is conducted at temperature 480-600 C directly at the same reaction chamber where synthesis was carried out without opening of autoclave. EFFECT: carrying out of thermal treatment in common operating cycle enables to eliminate labor expenditures for additional operations, reduce losses of materials, exclude appearing of additional stress resulting in cracking of blanks and produce outsize up-to-standard unfissured monoblocks of opal-shaped quartz. 2 cl, 1 ex
